Fleeing the Sandinista Revolution in his native country of Nicaragua Jay Hooker, along with his family settled in San Francisco in 1979. From 1986 until his discharge in 1994 he served in the US Army and is a veteran of Desert Storm. A 2000 graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, he studied film, television, photography and graphic design and brings to the Coachella Valley a unique blend of old school concepts and “out of the box” visions that provide his clients with professional, experienced and cutting edge products. Prior to moving to the desert Jay was a member of the San Francisco Film Arts Foundation. Jay also filmed, directed and edited his first documentary “Haight Ashbury, then and now” in 2003, along with co-producing the production of three songs for the film. In 2005 Jay founded Jay Hooker Photography.
